NEW CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY ON-SITE CONCRETE COOLING
As part of the City of Los Angeles' Bureau of Engineering's Sixth Street Viaduct Project, the contractor Skanska Stacy and Witbeck (SSW) and its subcontractors will be utilizing Liquid Nitrogen to control concrete temperatures.

Liquid nitrogen is added directly into on-site truck mixers to reduce concrete temperature. As shown in the photo below, this process will produce a water vapor cloud as the materials are combined.
